ARRESTED: False Alarm or Report

On April 02, 2020, the Brownsville Police Department received several complainants from concerned citizens regarding a female who made some alarming posts on social media regarding the COVID 19 pandemic. The female posted that she had come into contact with someone who has the COVID-19 virus and threatened to walk around local stores. She further posted that she was not going to die alone. Citizens reported being alarmed and concerned with the post.

Brownsville Police Department Investigators were able to identify the female as Leslie Hinojosa (30) and subsequent to their investigation an arrest warrant was secured. On the same day (04/02/2020), Hinojosa was taken into custody under the strength of the arrest warrant and charged with False Alarm or Report. Hinojosa was transported to city jail where she was booked in accordingly.
